MDF (medium density fibreboard) is a type of artificial wood sheet material that is manufactured by bonding wood fibres with wax and resin at a high temperature and pressure to create the panels. Similar to plywood and blockboard, MDF has several applications including flooring, roofing and cabinetry. MDF can also be purchased in moisture-resistant and fire-resistant variations.
