Medium Density Fibreboard or MDF for short is an artificial wood product that is created by fusing wood fibres and resin. This type of wood is popular in DIY projects, cabinetry, flooring and internal joinery due to its smooth finish and affordable price. It typically comes in boards that are 3mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 18mm and 25mm thick. MDF can be used around your house as skirting and architrave and can easily be cut to size and painted on to give you your desired look. MDF can also be purchased in moisture-resistant and fire-resistant variations for additional safety.
