Compression fittings do not require solder. - The joint is formed by tightening a nut and olive onto a pipe, compressing the olive onto the pipe which forms the seal. - Compression fittings are heat free and comprise of a metal body with compression nuts at each end. - These fittings are often made from brass. - However in areas where the mains water is particularly soft these fittings may be vulnerable to corrosion.
